Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Christ Hope Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
The Bible
The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is the source of faith and practice. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error.
(Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
(Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
God
“We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.” God is the only one living and true God. He exists in three equal persons God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:1,26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)
(Genesis 1:1,26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)
Jesus
“We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; On the third day he rose again; He ascended into heaven, He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come to judge the living and the dead.” Salvation comes through Jesus alone, who paid the penalty for our sin on the cross and provided a way to have relationship with God through His sacrificial death and resurrection.
(Isaiah 9:6; Psalm 103:3; John 1:1-5; Matthew 1:22-23; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:14-15; Romans 1:3-4; Romans 10:8-10; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
(Isaiah 9:6; Psalm 103:3; John 1:1-5; Matthew 1:22-23; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 4:14-15; Romans 1:3-4; Romans 10:8-10; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
The Holy Spirit
“We believe in the Holy Spirit.” The Holy Spirit is the presence of God in the life of a believer. The Holy Spirit equips people for ministry, gives people specific insight and wisdom, teaches people how to interpret God’s Word, communicates with the Father on our behalf, and empowers believers to live according to God’s design.
(Genesis 1:1-2; John 14:10-30; John 16:13; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Galatians 5:22-23)
(Genesis 1:1-2; John 14:10-30; John 16:13; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Galatians 5:22-23)
The Church
“We believe in the holy **catholic (**Christ’s universal) Church.” The church is the the body and bride of Christ. It is made up of all true believers. In this community, each believer has been given specific gifts from Jesus to be used to minister to others, building up of the body of Christ.
(Proverbs 27:17; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 5:25-27; Hebrews 12:23)
(Proverbs 27:17; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 1:22-23, Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 5:25-27; Hebrews 12:23)
Salvation
“the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.” We believe that salvation comes through Christ alone, because He paid the penalty for our sin on the cross. He provides a way to have relationship with God through His sacrificial death, and resurrection. The experience and process of salvation includes God making us right with Him, God making us pure in Him and God making us whole in Him. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our lives by faith.

(John 1:12; John 14:6; Romans 5:1; 6:23; Galatians 3:26; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5)
Baptism
Baptism is an outward sign of an inward work of transformation. Water baptism is an act of obedience that identifies a person with Jesus Christ, and His holy church.

(Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 1:9; Acts 8:36-39; 18:8, Romans 6:4)
Communion
We follow the observance of the Lord’s Supper, or what is commonly called Communion. This is an outward act of remembrance and acceptance of the death and resurrection of Christ. It is a symbol of our relationship and union with Christ. All are welcome at Christ’s table.
(Luke 22:7-20; 1 Corinthians 11:24-30)
(Luke 22:7-20; 1 Corinthians 11:24-30)
Marriage
The Bible establishes God’s plan that marriage is intended to be a lifetime commitment between one biological man and one biological woman. Marriage is the means God established for intimacy of relationship and the basis for the family. Our positions are based upon the following Scripture:
(Genesis 2:18, 23-24; Ephesians 5:22–27; John 2:1-12; Matthew 19:4–6, 1 Corinthians 7:2, Mark 10:1-12)
